Lamborghini 400GT 2+2

£25.00

On the 18th July 1985, the long-established Ferrari specialist Graypaul Motors held its annual Test Day at the Donington Park circuit in Derbyshire.

Alongside the 250 GTOs and SWBs were two Lamborghinis: an early RHD Miura P400 (registration OPW 8F, chassis # 3198, then owned by Neil Lefley) and this 400 GT 2+2     (NJB 4L, chassis # 0796).

Red is an unusual colour for a 400 GT (darker colours better suit the car’s conservative nature), and in the 1980s the cars were not held in high esteem; Lamborghini was still very much the ‘Johnny-Come-Lately’ of Italian exotica.

Now, the company is a fully paid-up member of the automotive aristocracy, and many people say its first cars – the 350/400GT series – are among its best.
