Lamborghini Countach LP400

£25.00

The first Goodwood Revival Meeting was held in 1998: 50 years exactly since the track was first used for motor sport.

In 1966 it fell into disuse, and through the 1970s and 1980s became increasingly shabby. However, these ‘wilderness years’ still saw regular gatherings of exotic cars, and here is one of the main crowd-pleasers: Lamborghini Countach LP400 ‘3 DUU’, chassis # 1120106.  First owned by Richard Earl, the car was cared for by Mike Pullen’s nearby Carrera Sport workshop in Haywards Heath. It is one of two RHD cars originally painted orange.

I was briefly allowed to sit in the car (again, thanks Dad for asking), just before the door was locked to deter further scrambling urchins.

The next time I sat in an LP400 was over 32 years later in early 2017: that being the other orange car, which first went to South Africa (another RHD country) but is now resident in Yorkshire.
